Publicity and Business Headshot Photographer

When I approach any publicity or business headshot session I always keep two things in mind for the client. The first is to allow for openness and spontaneity, and the second, to avoid self consciouness that comes across as being closed. I will then suggest different lighting and background options. For instance, if the photos are more relaxed I will suggest a more natural setting- the studio for an upscale professional feel. l will also go on location if the client prefers something more specific.

The photo should reflect confidence. This translates as a sense of trust. Even with the best lighting, makeup, and wardrobe, if the true personality is not coming through honestly every aspect that has gone into it won’t come together as a seamless whole.

What Clients Are Saying About David Laporte Studio

  • Jessica Montville, Actress

"Had a wonderful and fun time today! Thanks for your creative direction and fun energy."

  • Lindsey Jordan, Actress

"Thank you so much! I had the best time today. You are the best!"

  • Ari Durgin, Actress

"David, Thank you so so much for working with me! You’re awesome and really helped teach me more about how I work best. I had a blast working with you!"

  • Katy Piccalto, Actress

"Thank you David, for making my first shoot an incredible experience!"

I always interact with my clients to make them feel more comfortable. Unlike actors that have been in front of the camera for years, a business person may need more direction. I always believe that simplicity is the key and when relaxed it will come off as genuine. A photo session can be fun, relaxed and creative. It starts with identifying the way you would like to come across and working together making sure that it comes through in an open and honest way.
